PC Application Development

Our PC application development experience is targeted at supporting the embedded systems and bespoke testers that we develop.

Increasingly users expect PC software to simplify the initial configuration of embedded devices. We also develop interface software that allows a PC user to extract data from embedded devices and manipulate it using standard PC applications such as Microsoft Excel.

End users now expect software in their native language, this has become standard on most of the developments we have done in the past 5 years. So if your users expect multi-lingual applications, this is now something that we do as standard.

We develop your applications in either Delphi to produce native Windows software or C# to produce managed code that works with Microsoft’s .NET framework.

We have implemented a PC version of the user interface from some of the laboratory test equipment we have developed. Running the user interface on a standard PC can help you prepare the user documentation, it allows the user interface to be tested by anyone with a PC, and can be used to give your customer’s and idea for the capability of your devices. The Japanese translator was able to see all the screen text to be translated, and also to verify the Japanese user interface, by using the PC version, instead of waiting for equipment to be shipped from the UK to Japan.


PDA Application DevelopmentUser interface on a standard PDA

Our experience using Windows CE for the GUI on laboratory test equipment allows us to develop applications to run on popular PDAs. We use the .NET Compact Framework, for the user interfaces on some devices which allows us to run the same user interface on standardised PDAs that is run on the target equipment.

Being able to run the user interface on a standard PDA during the development stage of a project allow you to test the user interface before the hardware is ready. It can also be useful as a marketing tool, allowing a demonstration of your product using just a pocket PDA.

We have recently become a Microsoft Windows Embedded Partner to strengthen our position as an Embedded System Design house in the UK offering design and development service using Microsoft’s Embedded WinCE operating system as an integral part of your system.


Bespoke and Custom Test Equipment Bespoke and Custom Test Equipment Development

Often it is necessary to have a bespoke or custom tester made to test your product during manufacture. We have made bespoke test equipment for factory floor use. Our custom electronic throttle tester helped with setting up and calibration throttles. Our custom designed throttle ester helped ensure QA compliance with tests results stored in a database, to demonstrate compliance with the technical standards.

A bespoke tester can greatly improve efficiency, and also ensure quality be testing that every product complies with the appreciate standards before it leave your factory. On-Site Training

We are happy to train your people on the use of systems that we develop. With bespoke production line testers, this training of your production line workers is important; we will either support your own engineers and training staff, or undertake this for you. We do this on your site, using the equipemnt after installation.

Pricing

Most of our clients like fixed prices, and this is the dominant way that we work. You may prefer time & materials, in which case we can accommodate that way of pricing too.

If you would like us to consider undertaking projects on a royalty or risk share basis, then we will do that, where this would be mutually advantageous.
